Special Congratulations All-State Chorus member: Calvin Feustel
It is with great pleasure that we are able to honor the HHS students that have represented our school at several choral festivals this year. Five students: Danielle Gager, Madison Candela, Calvin Feustel, Eric Berkihiser and Seth Buckwalter from the HHS Chorus auditioned and participated in the District Chorus festival held at Pittston Area High School in February 2022. The festival lasted for several days in which 160 students from our area came together to work with a distinguished guest conductor to make music and conclude with a performance for family, friends and community. But the journey wasn't over there, the students re-auditioned and three of them: Danielle Gager, Calvin Feustel and Eric Berkihiser advanced to the next level, Region Chorus. The students worked for two days with Dr. Detwiller from Mansfield University to deliver a stellar performance at Valley High School in March of 2022. The furthest a student can advance is the PMEA All-State Chorus. Calvin Feustel, senior at Honesdale High School was able to receive this high honor. April 6-8, 2022 Calvin will work with students from across the state of Pennsylvania to make music and perform one final concert at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos. "I am very proud of all of the students for their hard work and dedication to learning and performing choral music. It is truly an honor to be a part of these choirs, and work with the most talented students in Pennsylvania. The final product of these concerts is being able to produce beautiful music and showcase the talents of these young musicians" states Mrs. Martha Curtis, Choral Director at Honesdale High School. Though the past few years have been difficult to come together and sing, it is nice to know that music is still alive and well in our area. A special congratulations again to these students from Honesdale High School on all of their achievements in the performing arts.
